Classical Cut-Outs
Exeter Phoenix Cafe Bar, Spring 2011

Following scrapbook tradition and referencing classical antiquities where arms, legs and heads fell off these simple cut outs were made for a show at Exeter Phoenix Cafe Bar. Cut outs of people from fashion books with scissors glued to paper. Embraced crappy art trends with charity shop frames. Outmoded books collected from local charity shops.
.
I'd been reading 'Femmage': Miriam Shapiro and Melissa Meyer essay 1977 over and over again.

Also, in reference to Greek Statues: why did the arms fall off?
