The Peeproom Project
Summer Screen, Spacex, Exeter, 2007

A collection of over 50 handmade paper peepboxes produced with families and community groups in Exeter. Inspired by Victorian pin prick drawing and the collection of 19th Century optical toys at the Bill Douglas Centre for the History of Cinema and Popular Culture at the University of Exeter.

Designed to be handled, visitors held the peep boxes up to a low slung chandelier to view images through a peephole where tiny pinprick drawings sparkled.
